 Prayer Environment

A few months ago, my school held a program called Saint Mary’s Way, a co-curricular activity that encourages students of Santa Maria Junior High School to follow the values of Mother Mary. For this program, I chose the neighborhood prayer activity, and my group consisted of three members: Chelsea, Felis, and me. Because we lived in different neighborhoods, Chelsea and I were placed together in one smaller group.

We began by planning our activity. First, we agreed on a date to attend the neighborhood prayer. The prayer we joined carried the BKSN theme. After completing the planning, we decided to participate on September 20, 2025, at one of the houses in our neighborhood.

The prayer started at 6:30 PM. It began with an opening song followed by an opening prayer. Our role in the prayer was reading the Scripture passage for the reflection. We also took part in a fun activity—assembling a puzzle—which helped strengthen teamwork and togetherness among the members. The prayer ended with a closing prayer and a closing song.

After finishing the activity and writing our report, we presented the results on Friday, October 17, 2025. During the presentation, Felis rejoined us to present the work together. We presented our report to share our experiences and the meaning of the activity with teachers, friends, and parents.

Participating in Saint Mary’s Way gave me many meaningful lessons. I realized that the activities I completed reflected the values of Mother Mary, such as obedience, awareness, and humility. I also experienced the warmth of togetherness within the neighborhood community. This program encouraged me to become more active in community activities, strengthen my relationships with others, and deepen my faith.
